The Office of Budget and Planning (OBP), whose responsibility is to prepare, monitor, analyze, and execute the District’s budget is in search of a Senior Financial Medicaid Analyst. This position serves as OBP’s primary analyst for tracking and monitoring the formulation, execution, and analysis of the District’s Medicaid provider agencies and the State agency. The incumbent will assist the efforts of OBP to certify and track Medicaid revenues and collections; provide counsel, advice, and technical assistance to the senior and executive leadership on overarching issues and concerns regarding citywide health care and Medicaid issues; accompany senior and executive leadership and other key District officials to meetings and City Council hearings that pertain to Medicaid issues. The incumbent will also prepare recurring and special reports of a budgetary, financial, or analytical nature relative to the health care and Medicaid programs, as well as reports on the Medicaid operations of District agencies; identify problems within health care and Medicaid operations to develop and implement solutions; assist in the identification and assessment of Medicaid revenue projection assumptions and risks and offer recommendations for improvements. One year specialized experience performing related duties and responsibilities is required. Desired candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; demonstrated knowledge and experience in major public assistance programs; knowledge of budget formulation at state/municipal level; and strong communication skills.
