The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking a motivated self-starter with strong analytical and database skills to manage the monitoring and reporting on all funding and expenditures related to the Department of Justice funding and to develop and maintain financial and budgetary databases and spreadsheets. Responsibilities include compiling, developing, and maintaining large financial and budgetary spreadsheets and databases; analyzing budget and policy issues and processes; monitoring expenditures against budgets, and preparing reports for program managers and executive team as necessary. Responsible for ensuring all fiscal compliance requirements are met, audit points are kept at a minimum and reports are done timely and accurately. Works closely with all levels of program staff and agency management.
Qualifications: The candidate must be able to show: (1) extensive experience (whether classroom or work-related) developing and using large data sets, relational databases, and analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, or other business intelligence tools (2) experience initiating research and analysis; and (3) an understanding of financial, programmatic, and budgetary analysis. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate: (1) effective communication skills (i.e., written work and presentations), (2) the ability to simultaneously work on multiple assignments within critical deadlines, and (3) show creativeness and inquisitiveness. An undergraduate degree in a related field (business administration, public administration, economics, finance, information technology, political science) that demonstrates analytical and quantitative skills is desired.
