The House and Senate are both in session. Early in the week, the House is expected to consider the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act (HR 307), as amended by the Senate, which reauthorizes and modifies numerous medical disaster and emergency response programs intended to facilitate the development of chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear medical countermeasures. On Wednesday, the House is scheduled to bring to the floor a stopgap spending bill (HR 933) to fund federal government operations for the remainder of the current fiscal year, after the present continuing resolution (CR) expires on March 27. The measure proposes new fiscal 2013 spending bills for Defense and Military Construction-Veterans Affairs and a CR to fund most other federal agencies at current spending levels. The Senate will consider two judicial nominations later today, and on Tuesday is expected to take up a resolution that authorizes committee expenditures for the rest of fiscal 2013 (S Res 64).
