The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has provided updated national, state and local data on economically disadvantaged youth and adults for use in calculating Workforce Investment Act (WIA) youth and adult state allotments and within-state allocations for program year (PY) 2013. ETA generally updates this data for program use every five years; therefore, the next update is expected to occur prior to PY 2018 fund allocations. ETA Assistant Secretary Jane Oates also issued a guidance letter to states announcing the release of the new data, providing answers to commonly asked questions, and describing the data file contents, layout and caveats.
