Trade Deficit Narrows Slightly in February

According to a report released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis on April 5, the goods and services trade deficit decreased by 3 percent to $43.0 billion in February, down from $44.5 billion in January. This decline follows a sharp increase in the trade deficit in January. The narrowing of the trade gap was driven by a $1.6 billion increase in exports in February; imports rose just slightly by $0.1 billion.
