The Tax Policy Center (TPC), a joint center of the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution, recently launched a new website as part of its State and Local Finance Initiative. This project provides state and local officials, journalists, and the general public with reliable, objective data and analysis about the challenges state and local governments face, potential solutions, and the outcomes of alternative policy options. The resource integrates relevant TPC publications, blog posts, data tools, and event information in three core topic areas: 1) tax and budget; 2) public programs; and 3) intergovernmental issues.
