On Wednesday, February 6, the House passed a measure (HR 444) by a vote of 253-167 that would require President Obama to show in his fiscal 2014 budget when the federal deficit will be eliminated. If his budget blueprint does not do this, the measure would then require the President to submit a supplemental budget plan identifying in which year the budget would be balanced. The Senate is not expected to take up the bill.
