The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided states with information about a funding opportunity to enroll children in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) as well as changes to Medicaid and CHIP included in the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. The American Taxpayer Relief Act extended the authorization for three Medicaid and CHIP provisions, the Transitional Medical Assistance, the Qualifying Individuals Program and also continued the state option to provide Express Lane Eligibility for children.
