NASBO has created these national awards to recognize the work and accomplishments of state budget directors, analysts and administrative professionals. Since the institution of NASBO’s George A. Bell Award in 1978, state budget office staffers from 33 states and the District of Columbia have been honored with a NASBO award. These individuals are recognized through award presentations at our meetings or at their place of work, by attribution on NASBO’s website, and their names are inscribed on plaques located at NASBO’s office in Washington, DC.
