NASBO is now accepting nominations for the 2011 awards. The nomination deadline for all awards is Monday, February 28. NASBO is also pleased to announce a new award recognizing administrative professionals in a state budget office.
- Gloria Timmer Award [Criteria] [Nomination Form]
This award recognizes exceptional performance for those at the executive level within a state budget office. Most often, the recipients of the Gloria Timmer award have been budget directors or deputy budget directors. In addition, senior management serving in state budget offices are also eligible. Past regular members continue to be eligible for the award up to 18 months from the date they leave their budget officer position.
- George A. Bell Award [Criteria] [Nomination Form]
This award recognizes an associate member of NASBO who, as an employee of a state budget office, has made an exceptional contribution to state budgeting and management. Associate Members are budget analysts, unit supervisors, and other staff. All nominations that are not the recipient of the George A. Bell award will automatically become eligible for their regional award.
The following awards recognize an associate NASBO member in each region for outstanding contributions to public budgeting and management in state government . Associate members are all professional personnel in the budget agency who are not Regular Members. Associate Members are budget analysts or their unit supervisors and other staff. Eligibility also includes a section, team, or group from a particular budget department.

National Award for Administrative Excellence in a State Budget Office

This award recognizes an administrative professional staff member for outstanding contributions and service to the state budget office. This individual has continually shown dedication and commitment to the state budget office through innovation and by either making significant contributions over a period of time or by having made an exceptional contribution to a specific project which has had a significant, positive impact on the state budget office.
